Carol McLeod

Wellington, Nevada

Carol McLeod (1948-) was born in Seattle, Washington.  She received her high school diploma in 1966 from Buena High School, Ventura, California.   After high school, she studied art at Ventura College, where she was awarded her A.A. Degree in 1968 and then attended Mills College, Oakland, California where she obtained her undergraduate art degree in 1970.  After Mills College, she completed her advanced studies in Art Therapy and Marriage, Family and Child Counseling at CSU Sacramento.  Carol’s regular 9 to 5 was spent in the area of special education; she worked for three decades with disadvantaged youth using art and computers.

Many themes can be found in Carol’s art where she can move from medium to medium flawlessly.  In the Charlie B Gallery, one will see her fascination with “Aliens” as it is translated through her work in both jewelry and sculpture where clay is the common ingredient in the process.   When I met Carol for the first time, I accepted her in my gallery without seeing her work.  It was the passion in her heart that told me she was a precious artist that could create with no bounds where her imagination, her art could have a very profound effect on others as it has on me.
